video hosting service Viddler is currently down and has been for the last 45 minutes or so (as of 8pm eastern). Viddler CEO Rob Sandie has been using Twitter to communicate with Viddler customers. It looks like most of the issue is around their content delivery network (CDN) Limelight..Viddler is an interactive online video platform for uploading, sharing, enhancing, tagging, commenting on, and forming groups around videos. Viddler online video provides a free service for non-commercial users, the paid Viddler business service includes support, a customizable player, the ability to create a private community, detailed analytics, priority encoding, HD encoding, iTunes support, control over advertising and full branding. There is also an opt-in advertising option where revenue is shared. However, videos uploaded under the free service have advertising automatically overlaid across the video content, and neither uploaders nor viewers have any control or influence on the selection or display of advertising.
